Another Taste of Two Worlds and a touch of Peruvian Culture

Labor Day in the US definitely marks, among many other things of course, the end of blueberry season. After picking enough to re-stock the freezer for way too many smoothies and muffins, we noticed a cool looking store front along the ride home. We have probably driven by this place a million times on our way home from skiing, but never took the time to allow ourselves to really notice the display’s eclectic beauty.

Acopio is definitely not what you expect to find in small town New Hampshire. Both the business concept – boutique meets indoor/outdoor meeting space meets classroom and an array of artistic workshops – as well as the variety of clothing and jewelry sold is definitely worth a regular visit and won’t break the bank either.

Two Worlds, Two Cultures and Many Commonalties

30 minutes of conversation and one pair of shades for the teenager later, I am happy to say that I made a new connection, found a new person worth finding time for to get to know better. What is it that allows us to instantly connect with some people at a much deeper level than we do with others?

I cannot say that I am naturally drawn to every fellow immigrant I stumble upon on a Monday morning, even so I often do long for more cultural diversity in my immediate surrounding … Maybe it is all about being in the right place at the right time or some connections are just meant to be … Or is that that they either simply inspire us to explore a new path or to just make us feel better about the one we are currently on?
Either way, we will be back! So if you ever decide to head up North on Route 114 to enjoy the scenery, go blueberry or apple picking, hiking or skiing, do not hesitate to stop and shop at Acopio.
